About Andrea Olson
Andrea Olson is a passionate worship leader, songwriter, and worship leader coach in Minnesota. With Overflow Worship Leaders Online, Andrea is positioned to be an anchor voice for past, present, and future generations of worshippers. Above all else, Andrea wants to lead people into an encounter with the Holy Spirit. Because she knows what it’s like to experience the transformation and healing in His Presence. After lead worship for nearly 20 years, she wants others to experience that, too.
Even After All Those Years
It all began in 2014 during the first Overflow Worship Conference held in Willmar, MN. The plan was simple, to only have one, but it was clear that this was what Andrea was made for after the first time. Since that first conference, Andrea has led worship with excellent leaders such as Meredith Andrews, Christy Nockels, Paul Baloche, Shane & Shane, David Leonard, Vertical Worship, and more, and Overflow Worship Conference grew as well. The Overflow Worship Conference doubled in size in just a year and became a beautiful example of a diverse community that God was bringing together.
As a worship leader and songwriter, Andrea Olson has always felt a deep calling to bring others into an encounter with God and deepen their relationship with Him. Through worship experiences, songs and resources, she desires to help lead people across the bridge they need to get from where they are to where they want to be in the presence of God. With the release of singles like “Monument,” “God Victorious,” “You Already Have,” and her full album "This Good," it is clear that these songs come from a sacred place.
After nearly 20 years in worship ministry, Andrea has also devoted the last decade as a worship leader coach, working 1:1 with worship leaders from all over the country providing handcrafted training and tools to help them thrive in the ministry God has called them to.

It all began in 2014 during the first Overflow Worship Conference held in Willmar, MN. We want to grow a community of worship leaders who can connect, be in the trenches together, and have access to tools that help them thrive in ministry, avoid burnout, and have longevity in their calling.

I have a choice to make every day. I can choose gratitude or not. I can shake my fist at God and tell Him how unfair things are. Or, I can be still and listen, choosing to fix my eyes on what He has done, living in gratitude for them.

One thing that I've learned, that's important, is not only making space in our schedules for the things that bring us joy, but also for rest!
In the morning when I wake up, I make time for journaling. I have a few prompts I've created to make it easy and I want to share them with you!
1. What am I grateful for right now?
2. What am I learning in my Bible reading/devotions right now?
3. What are my top three priorities for today?
I haven't met my goal of doing it every single day, but when I get in this rhythm, it's a powerful way to focus on what's most important first thing in the morning. It's helped me rest and I hope it will help you too!

"I saw a quote recently that has stuck with me.
It said, "When we ask, "Why is this happening," we may not get an answer. But instead, when we ask, "How will I glorify God in this?" we will always have an answer."
What a beautiful way to go through life. I will always have an answer when I choose that perspective.
When I choose to live life through the lens of gratitude and ask God how I can glorify Him through my circumstances...things change. Will it fix my problems immediately? Probably not. But, it will first address the most significant issue- my perspective. And I have learned throughout my life that this very thing is what He's after. He is after my heart.
And you know what? He's after your heart, too. I challenge all of us to ask ourselves today - how will I glorify God in this?"

I love praying the lyrics of the song, "The Blessing" over our family. The words and melody are peaceful and yet a powerful reminder that God is truly with us in all things and wants the best for us.
This song was written out of the book of Numbers chapter 6. In Numbers 6:24-27 NLT, this beautiful blessing is spoken out over the people of Israel.
"May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace.’
Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”
This same blessing is for you today. Wherever life is throwing at you, God will keep you and give you His peace. The only peace that is beyond understanding or comprehension.

This was such a holy moment from our @overflowworshipofficial Virtual Retreat. It was powerful to not only be in this room but worshipping at the same time, together with thousands of worship leaders from all over the world. It’s a moment that has marked me.
This song has impacted me greatly in my life. I remember my parents introducing at church for our worship nights it shortly after released on @mwsmithofficial Worship album. And God used that song to usher a move of His presence in our small little Baptist church and we were all changed.
Why tell you this? The presence of God is everything we need. When He moves, things change and we find all that we need.

More than enough. I recently read those words aloud at an event and was overwhelmed. The words jumped off the page, and I was awestruck by the reminder that I always have more than enough in Him. Life can be complex, noisy, or confusing at times. But even in those times, we lack nothing. Just stop for a moment. Don’t miss that. Let it sink in. We have more than enough in Him."

My song "Monument" is based out of the Old Testament when the Israelites would make a resolution to stop, build a monument, and worship with all of their hearts in gratitude for what God had brought them through. And then, in the future, when their children asked about the monument, they could respond with a recounting of the miracles that God had performed on their behalf. I know we haven't seen the other side of the chaos this year, we are still in battle. But I know that God is still working. And my prayer is that this song is a declaration of praise and gratitude for what God has already done and what He is going to do.

Story behind the song- "This Good" marked the beginning of something new. It was like a page out of my prayer journal from the previous 7 years and the song flowed out of us so quickly in about two hours. It’s the calming reminder that I needed that God’s goodness is beyond what I could ever comprehend and that no matter what I’m facing, he still chooses to show me His goodness every day and I am so grateful.

To see someone walking in their calling and step into leadership is the most rewarding part of what I do. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to lead and develop new leaders.

When I wrote "I'll Sing", the whole idea of a new song has been stirring in my heart for quite a while. God has brought me through a lot and I have new things to be grateful for. New songs to sing.
And after a challenging season, I believe that the Church has a new song to sing as well. We have been given mercies and deliverance in new ways.

Remaining Present with His Presence
"This Good" 2022
This album marks a new beginning for me. I poured out more of myself into this album than ever before. It has stretched me and challenged me in ways that I never expected. But, all along I knew that God was doing something special and something new, and while I have reaped the joy of this process, it was never about me or for me. The purpose of this album is to provide a SELAH, or an opportunity to pause in His presence, for all who listen. From start to finish, it’s a journey that I pray gives you time to sit, soak in His presence and listen.
Life is faster paced than ever, and I have to be honest with myself about how often I actually take the time to be still and pause in HIs presence. He gives incredible insight and revelation when we let our minds stop racing long enough to just listen. I pray that His presence permeates every word of this album and washes over you like a refreshing waterfall, reminding you that He IS this good. He wants to be near to you, to refresh and refill you.
