I just got word that Don Koch passed away. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for Don believing in me, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I think back at all of the various things that happened while working with him and after, and I can’t help but think about how I can clearly see God orchestrating all of it and using Don in the process. I remember sitting at a GMA event in 2009 and listening to him do a writers round, thinking to myself…I would love to work with Don someday. I honestly thought it was a pipe dream. But God, in His kindness, gave me the courage to walk up to him and tell him so. HA! And for some reason, Don saw something in me. He produced my first EVER Nasvhville EP in 2013 and co-wrote all the songs with me, encouraging me to become the songwriter that I am today. I’m so grateful that he saw something in me and had the patience to help me grow. I know he impacted countless people through his life through songwriting, producing and friendships. I am grateful to have known him. We suffer a great loss, but grateful that he is healed and whole and it’s not goodbye forever, just for now. My thoughts and prayers are with Don’s family as you celebrate the incredible life he lived.

Psalm 62:5 in the King James Version says, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from him.” That one little word changed everything.
